San Lorenzo is a historic Roman district known and characterized by its liveliness, it is frequented and inhabited by many young people.
The neighborhood has been the site of some dramatic events, because of these and some people who frequent it now it is seen as a dangerous neighborhood.

The project aims to redevelop the San Lorenzo district, making it
a safer place thanks to lighting, the inclusion of new activities and points
reference that favor orientation.

Naming
To overcome the problems related to the neighborhood we decided to call
the Flusso project, a continuous flow represented by lights and people
which become the new life of San Lorenzo.

The idea is to represent Flow as a line of energy that connects and illuminates
the district. To do this, writing was used, the connection between the letters will represent the light and its continuous flow within the neighborhood.

Il sistema di orientamento è interamente basato sulla luce.
Landmark luminosi
Le piazze principali saranno caratterizzate da sculture artistiche luminose realizzate
in fibre di intrecciate di nylon e polietilene.
According to an experiment on orientation with light by the Delft University of technology,
it appears that in places illuminated by static light, people tend to follow freely the path
without moving away, while the low frequency light indicates to people the path to follow.
To guide people to follow the main path will be illuminated from a bright wire to static light.
To bring people to enter the neighborhood, the streets will be characterized
by luminous threads with low frequency dynamic light.
Totem and App will guide visitors in the areas: food, drink and events.
